Pretty much necessary

If you're installing an oil pressure gauge in a GR Sti, then this kit is what you need to hook up to the OEM sending unit, just underneath the alternator. Remove alternator required. You'll need to order a separate inline adapter also, which allows for the external gauge and the factory dummy light to both work. 1/8" to BPST Inline adapter. eBay. Attach adapter into stock oil pressure place. Attach stock sensor horizontally. Position the stock sensor to point straight backwards, toward passenger side, then this kit attaches to the top side putput. Will be a tight fit with the alternator still, but impossible fit without this kit. Plus this extends the length a bit to where you won't likely have to splice any extensions for gauge wires. I ran gauges to the center console double air duct area and didn't need to extend any wires. I consider it a "must have" for an oil pressure gauge install in a GR Sti. 1/8" npt to BPST Inline adapter. eBay. You'll have to still work it around where the alternator sits. Then extend this kit to the LH strut tower. Then run your gauge wires through the LH side fenderwell grommet. You'll have to pull the LH side fenderwell. Mine was already gone, so just cut an "X" slit in that grommet. I ran boost, wideband, and oil pressure all through that grommet. Then used an add-a-fuse to wire all 3 gauges together and then to the cigarette lighter. Grounded it all just above the fuse box. Also worked in a DB9 for the Wideband 02 so I can run serial to USB and open source log the Wideband. Cheers
