Kartboy started the short shifter design from the bottom up on the 2015+ Subaru WRX. The best solution, reduce the throw through the shifter lever on the transmission without increasing shifter effort. After 5 design revisions, Kartboy chooses the best balance of throw reduction and weight. The new shifter arm is cast from 4130 steel and annealed post-machining with a final weight of 263 grams/ .58lbs. The shifter pin is CNC machined from 4130 billet steel and welded to the lever. The shifter arm is finished in an electrolysis nickel finish for corrosion resistance.
