RUGGED UPGRADE
IAG’s Rally X Skid Plate is a replacement upgrade for the Subaru factory plastic splash guard on the 2002-07 WRX/STI. While the OEM plastic version provides a sufficient buffer for regular street driving conditions, the Rally X Skid Plate provides a solid shield against rocky roads, churned up trails, ice chunks and debris, allowing you to take on the rally course or the trail without the worry of cracking an oil pan or crushing a header.
SOLID CONSTRUCTION
The IAG Rally X Skid Plate is constructed from a single, solid piece of 3/16” thick 5052 aluminum. Known for its strength and high corrosion resistance, 5052 aluminum is also lightweight, making it a perfect match for racing applications. This skid plate features a protective layer of black powder coating on both sides of the plate. Highly resistant to wear and tear, corrosion, fading and chipping, the powder coated finish not only increases the longevity of the aluminum plate, but also enhances the aesthetic appeal.
EASY INSTALLATION
The IAG Rally X Skid Plate is easy to install, and the entire task can be completed in under 10 minutes. The pre-drilled mounting holes align and mount up to already existing mounting points on your Subaru’s subframe and transmission brace. All mounting hardware is included, along with spacers that allow for installation on vehicles that require additional clearance due to aftermarket headers. While it’s easier to install with the use of a lift, it is not a requirement; a sturdy floor-jack as well as a basic set of socket wrenches will suffice.

I finally got this thing installed on my 05 WRX.
It's quite thick and heavy, I really like the build quality and the hardware it comes with. I had to drill and tap a broken bolt in my u frame and one in my jack plate. That's not related to the product itself but heads up to anyone have installing this, these cars are old now so check the mounting points before crawling under there to install it.
I can confirm that this skid plate will fit(just barely) with the IAG oil pan and IAG headers as well. I also have IAG engine mounts so if you have saggy OEM mounts there's a chance the pan would hit.
I wish there was some additional support at the rear of the skid plate so the jack point was still functional. I'm not sure I trust jacking the front of the car up there now. I may fab up some spacers similar to the included ones and add 2 more bolts to the rear that attach to the jack plate mounting points to address this.

Fits great even though my U-Frame is bent. Easy to install. Great quality. Fast Shipping. No sticker included though :(

Picked this up at IAGs headquarters. The plate is a sturdy design, offering maximum protection. Fit and finish was superb, no drilling or adjustments needed as mentioned in another review. Only suggestion could be weeding the spacers into place. But highly recommend purchasing. Also worth mentioning, no rattling or any other weird sounds coming from the car after installation.

This skid plate is good, but I have three complaints:
1) the holes that are predrilled in the plate did not line up. They were off by about 1/16" so I had to widen the holes slightly on the skid plate. This might not be an issue with the plate itself seeing as how my car is 15 years old- things might have shifted a little.
2) there is no venting cut into the skid plate at all so oil pan temps are going to rise
3)there is no opening cut to drain oil so this is going to have to be removed for simple service.
Still extremely happy with the purchase and I knew about issues #2 and 3 before buying. I will probably end up cutting it a little myself down the road.

Will this fit under the IAG street series oil pan?
It is a very close fit but they will clear. Keep in mind that this will block the cooling fins on the pan if you would like to see that benefit.

Will this fit on 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS? I thought it's the same platform but it told me not when I input it.
While it does have the same chassis, it shoud fit on the RS but we do not have confirmation on that.

It is about a 10-15lb difference.
