I Recently purchased, this DSS CF shaft for my 2004 wrx with a full 2006 sti drivetrain swap. I was hesitant at first hearing about some vibrations and clearance issues, but once installed, was very happy with the results. The drivetrain is much smoother and clears out the slop from the carrier bearing. There is definitely a difference in drivability. The lighter shaft does help with part throttle driving. It makes the car feel lighter, and revs easier in normal driving. I can now stay in 5th gear at a lower mph while driving instead of downshifting to 4th and then feel like my rpms are too high. (Im rotated and dont have much low end.) I had some binding in the dccd only when turn from a stop sign prior to install. To my surprise the shaft remedied this problem. Probably the worn carrier bearing. I did reused the stock hardware and did not drill out the flange for the larger included hardware. Overall i feel the cost matches the performance gains for me. Shipping was also fast from IAG and received it in two days.
