Cusco Type-RS Limited Slip Differential is suited for drivers who:
- Prefer lower maintenance on racing-grade Limited Slip Differential Units.
- Prefer more immediacy in actuation response right from the initial lock setting to the maximum preset lock rate.
- Drive lower-powered, compact cars in competitions.
- Does a lot of Standing-Start drag racing and short-track, autocross with light-trigger starts.
The CuscoType-RS LSD has an initial lock setting that is more consistent and evenly spread over friction plates over traditional limited-slip differential systems. The inner-coil spring design allows for setting less initial lock on friction plates than a traditional LSD while achieving a similar response. The springs keep the friction plates in contact evenly and aid in prolonging the life of the plates, while also preventing deformation of the plate surface. Chattering of the plates is minimized in the RS Type design by providing consistent pressure across the radius of the friction plates. The oil-through design ensures the positive pressurized flow of the differential gear oil through all parts of the system.
